Frequently Asked Questions
What is psychotherapy?
Psychotherapy is a form of talk therapy where together we explore the underlying influences of self-defeating thoughts and patterns of behavior. My goal is to teach you to be more mindful of your thoughts and actions so that you may achieve love, success, and enjoyment in your life.
In the initial visit we will discuss what problems are bringing you in and together we will discuss what goals you want to achieve.
What can I expect on my initial visit?
The length of therapy can depend on a variety of factors including the severity of the problem and your motivation to change. Some issues may only require a few sessions but the healing process can often take longer. I take an active and direct approach providing you with feedback and encouraging your active participation to reach a better understanding of your self and how to achieve emotional well being.
How long does therapy usually take?
I am a provider with many insurance companies and Employee Assistance Programs. If you have mental health benefits you may have a deductible or you may be required to make a co-payment according to your particular plan. If you do not have insurance, it is $85.00 per session.
I accept payment in cash, checks, Venmo, Apple Pay, Zelle and Cash App.
I do not accept credit or debit cards.
**There is a $40.00 no show policy for appointments not cancelled at least 24 hours in advance.
Does my insurance pay for therapy?
